The Difference

We refer to mopeds in 4 catagories:

1) Builder’s stock
. A non-running bike that is being sold as-is. These are bikes that we have never cleaned, diagnosed or attempted to repair. They are sold as-is and often without titles. Our prices on these bikes are usually between $100 and $400 for non-Puch step-thru mopeds.

Builders Stock

2) Used. These are mopeds that have been fully serviced, tuned, greased, lubricated, cleaned and ready to ride. The broken mechanical parts are fixed and all electrical has been tested. Most used mopeds get new fuel line, fuel petcock, spark plug, bulbs in the lights, new grips and the carb is rebuilt and re-jetted.  These are sold as-is without warranties but we still stand behind them for the first week or two. If you ever decide you want to purchase a fully restored moped from us within the next 12 months, we will give you 80% of what you paid for it back in trade value as long as the cosmetic condition remains in good shape. Our prices on these used but fully serviced bikes are usually between $500-$850 for Puch and non-Puch step-thru mopeds.

3) Re-Conditioned. These are mechanically rebuilt mopeds that we sell for what people will often buy/sell used ones for. These bikes are completely disassembled and everything cleaned, de-greased and meticulously inspected. The engine, clutch and transmission and carb assemblies are fully rebuilt with all new parts. All electrical is tested and repaired. The wheels and brakes are rebuilt and new tires are installed. New fuel line, fuel petcock and brake pads are installed.  Everything is fully serviced, tuned and cleaned. Other parts maybe replaced as needed like grips, control cables, mirrors and seat upholstery if needed. The engines on these bikes come with a 30 day warranty without hidden limitations. As long the engine/carb or exhaust has not been altered during that period, you are covered. These bikes come with a very detailed manifest of what parts and labor went into the re-conditioning of your bike along with a new owners manual and a tune-up guide. Our prices on these bikes usually range between $850.00-$1700 for all Puch and non-Puch mopeds (including Magnums) delivered to your home.

Reconditioned

3) Restored (Puchs Only) Everything is either replaced or restored on the bike. Bikes are fully disassembled and the frames are sanded, prepped, primed and re-painted to your choice of factory colors. All new factory matched decals are re-applied including original warning and information decals. The engines are professionally rebuilt and tuned to perfection. All chrome is polished to a mirror-like finish and the bikes are made to look, feel, smell and ride just like they did when they were brand new!  Even the odometer is rebuilt and are reset to zero miles and you will swear that it is a brand new bike. Restored mopeds come with 30 day warranty not only on the engines but everything else as well with the only exceptions being OEM Switches because of their rarity. The restored Puchs seem to attract people wherever you go and everyone seems to have a moped story to tell you! Restored Puchs are available in the Maxi and Magnum models as well as Puch TriRad trikes. Our prices on these bikes start at $1495.00  for a basic Puch Maxi Step-Thru delivered to your home.
